Camlock coupling selector

Camlock Coupling Type & Size Selector

Choose Type A, B, C, D, E, F, DC or DP camlock fittings by hose connection, thread direction, body material, gasket and nominal size. MCHEN uses the result to quote stainless steel, aluminum, PP and nylon camlock couplings faster.

Type A-F, DC, DP 1/2" to 6" SS316 / SS304 / AL / PP / Nylon EPDM / NBR / FKM / PTFE

Find the Camlock Type for Your Line

Start with the connection scenario, then confirm size, body material and gasket. The selector gives a practical RFQ direction, not a substitute for final engineering review.

Camlock Coupling Type Chart

The letter tells you which half of the cam and groove connection you are buying and what termination is on the other end.

Camlock Size Chart for RFQ

Use nominal size as the first identifier, then confirm hose ID, thread standard and gasket. Larger sizes may need application review for pressure, safety and compatibility.

Material and Gasket Direction

SS316 / SS304 body

Choose stainless steel camlock couplings when corrosion resistance, longer service life, chemical exposure or marine environment matters. SS316 is the stronger starting point for saltwater and demanding media.

Aluminum, PP or nylon body

Aluminum helps reduce weight and cost for many water and tanker applications. PP and nylon are useful when a plastic body is preferred for selected chemical, corrosion or lightweight requirements.

EPDM, NBR, FKM or PTFE gasket

EPDM is a common water/weather option, NBR is usually reviewed for oil and fuel, FKM for higher heat or stronger chemical exposure, and PTFE for aggressive chemical service.

FAQ: Camlock Coupling Type and Size Selection

What camlock type do I need for a hose end?

A hose end usually uses Type C when the hose needs a female coupler and Type E when the hose needs a male adapter. Hose ID, clamp method and media should be confirmed before production.

What is the difference between a camlock adapter and coupler?

The adapter is the male grooved half. The coupler is the female half with cam arms. A complete connection normally pairs one adapter with one coupler of the same nominal size.

Which gasket should be used in a camlock coupling?

EPDM is commonly reviewed for water and outdoor service, NBR for oil or fuel, FKM for higher heat or stronger chemical exposure, and PTFE for aggressive chemicals. Final selection depends on media, temperature and pressure.

Can camlock couplings be used for compressed air?

Cam and groove couplings should be reviewed carefully for compressed air or steam service because a hose separation can create serious safety risk. Ask MCHEN to review the application before quoting.

Can MCHEN quote non-standard camlock parts?

Yes. MCHEN can review drawings, samples, custom markings, gasket material, handle material and packing requirements for OEM or bulk camlock coupling orders.
